Fertility Test for Couple
It is aimed for couples that are planning to get pregnant and have doubts whether they will succeed.
The couple’s fertility test consist in:
1. Interview with the specialist
The couple will have an interview with a reproductive medicine specialist, who will ask you some questions inquiring about menstrual, gynecologic and urologic history, contraceptive use, previous surgeries, family history, allergies, etc.
2. Pelvic ultrasound
This study will allow the specialist to assess the female reproductive organs (uterus and ovaries).
3. Laboratory Tests
Some hormones will be evaluated through a blood sample, usually made on the 3rd. or 4th. day of your menstrual cycle.
4. Sperm Analysis *
2 complete sperm analysis will be made with 1 month apart for a sperm count, morphology and mobility assessment.
5. Supplementary examinations **
These will be made in cases where the medical history, initial examination, ultrasound or semen suggests the presence of some pathology.
6. Result Analysis
After having the results, we will schedule a second appointment in which the specialist will explain to both:
- Your fertility potential
- Recommendations for a potential pregnancy
- How to preserve your fertility for the future?
- Treatment options if applicable
Couple fertility test cost: Q.2, 000
Includes:
- An interview for both (not individual)
- Pelvic ultrasound in women
- Hormone profile (FSH, TSH, prolactin) in women
- Two sperm analysis (with 1 month apart)
- Analysis of results of both (not individual)
* If the sperm analysis is abnormal, further testing is required which has an EXTRA COST.
** If required complementary exams, will have an additional charge (DEPENDING ON THE EXAM).
